Sasha Grbich

Sasha Grbich is a mid-career artist, writer and lecturer who works responsively with places and communities. Sasha approaches artworks as ecologies: unfinished events that perform with audience and in local environments.  She lectures at the Adelaide Central School of Art and is a regular contributor to Artlink Magazine. She was awarded the 2018 Anne & Gordon Samstag International Visual Arts Scholarship and in 2019 she undertook the independent study program is at Maumaus Escola, Portugal. In 2015 she completed postgraduate masters research at University of South Australia. Her current body of work compiles found languages that are gleaned from animals, environmental forces and observed gestures. These tongues are learnt and spoken (messily and absurdly); formed sculpturally; collected as installations and activated via intimate performances.
