Ray Harris
Ray Harris is an Adelaide artist working in video, performance and installation exploring the psychological complexities and struggles of the self. Her works examines compulsive psychological mechanisms and reconstructions of reality. Ray is also an emerging curator, having curated exhibitions for FELTspace, Holy Rollers among others and is committed to furthering the SA arts through participation, support, spaces and opportunities.
Ray has a Masters degree from UNI SA has won several grants and awards and has exhibited locally at the Samstag Museum, AEAF, SASA, CACSA, Adelaide Festival and Hugo Michell Gallery. Nationally at Sawtooth, Next Wave, Sydney Contemporary Art Fair, Casula Powerhouse, Brenda May Gallery and Internationally at Gil and Moti Homegallery (Netherlands), Pirimid Sanat and Istanbul Contemporary Art Fair (Turkey) and SEEAF Art Festival (South Korea).Her work is held in The Borusan Collection and Project 4L- Elgiz Museum Collection, Turkey and private collections in Australia and has featured in publications such as Artlink, Art Collector, Broadsheet, Real time, Fine Print and ETC magazine Canada. Ray was a co-director of FELTspace ARI from 2010 to 2015, the founder of Peer studios and now runs Holy Rollers Studios, Prospect.
