Heidi Kenyon

Heidi Kenyon is a contemporary visual artist based on Kaurna land in Adelaide. Her practice seeks to encourage viewers to find meaning and magic in everyday places, objects and rituals through sculpture, installation, sound-based work and public art.

In 2015 Kenyon completed a Masters by Research (Major Studio Project) at the University of South Australia, following graduation with First Class Honours from the South Australian School of Art in 2007. Kenyon has received a number of commendations for her work including the Qantas Foundation Encouragement of Australian Contemporary Art Award (2012), the MF & MH Joyner Scholarship in Fine Arts (2012), the Ruth Tuck Scholarship (2010), and the Constance Gordon-Johnson Sculpture and Installation Prize (2008).

Since 2005 Kenyon has exhibited her work locally and inter/nationally in galleries including Shift Gallery, London, Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts, the Australian Experimental Art Foundation and the Contemporary Art Centre of South Australia. She has participated in residencies and workshops within Italy, America, the UK and Australia; most recently as the 2018 artist-in-residence with the Botanic Gardens of South Australia for The Guildhouse Collections Project
